Deborah Szekely just celebrated her 102nd birthday.
Despite her age, Szekely isn’t just enjoying retirement; she’s actively working at the fitness resort and spa she helped start back in 1940, three days a week. She remains socially active, frequently visiting friends and speaking at events.
“When I turned 100, I felt no different than before, so I just continued living my life as usual,” she shared with CNBC Make It.
Here are the three daily routines Szekely follows, which she believes contribute significantly to her long and fulfilling life.

Szekely commits to walking a mile each day. “I won’t allow myself an afternoon nap unless I’ve completed my steps. It’s not strict; it’s just part of my daily routine,” she says.
She emphasizes the importance of active companionship for staying motivated. “One of my walking buddies is a Catholic nun who loves to walk as much as I do,” Szekely remarks.
